Chile became the only country with three awards at the 56th Cartagena Film Festival (FICCI 2016), whose closing ceremony took place on Monday, March 7, at the Teatro Municipal Adolfo Mejia of the Colombian city.

The FIPRESCI institution awarded the International Critics Prize to the film, "Aquí no ha pasado nada," by Alejandro Fernández Almendras; while in the Official Competition for a Documentary, Best Picture went to the work of José Luis Torres Leiva for the documentary, "El viento sabe que vuelvo a casa"; and the Special Jury Prize went to "El rastreador de estatuas" by Jerónimo Rodríguez.

The Chilean delegation at FICCI 2016 consisted of twenty directors, producers and actors, which awakened a positive reaction in the public and local media. National participation was the result of a winning project of a DIRAC contest, the Foreign Ministry's Department of Cultural Affairs, organized jointly with our embassy in Colombia. Cultural Attaché, Marcelo Dalmazzo, together with DIRAC's Coordinator of the Film and Audiovisual area, Eduardo Machuca, carried out the important job of showcasing Chile, both in the preliminary stages and during the event.

With the multiple awards for Chile, our country strongly consolidated its presence at FICCI, the oldest film festival in Latin America (created in 1959).
