Chilean Government categorically condemns the launching of a ballistic missile by the People's Democratic Republic of Korea (PDRK).
Our country regards with concern the deed performed by the PDRK, as it brings about a feeling of instability within the Korean Peninsula, and the world as well, hindering dialogue.
It is also a violation of resolutions 1718 (2006), 1874 (2009), 2087 (2013), 2094 (2013), 2270 (2016) and 2321 (2016) from the UN Security Council, which forbids the PDRK from launching technology that involves ballistic missiles.
Chile joins the International Community in renewing their plea to the People's Democratic Republic of Korea to cease their development of ballistic missiles of Intercontinental range, for it translates in a threat to world peace and it closes the road to dialogue.
