Foreign Minister Heraldo Muñoz had an audience today with Caroline Edelstam, President of the Edelstam Foundation, who visited our country to participate in the seminar and opening ceremony "Call for Nominations" of the Edelstam Award 2018, held on November 28 at the University of Santiago.
In the meeting, the Chancellor highlighted the work done by the Edelstam Foundation, which proposes a humanist vision based on the values and principles that are mainly expressed in the Declaration of Human Rights.
The Edelstam Award, established in Sweden, is awarded biennially to individuals and institutions for their contribution to the defence of human rights. The distinction is named after and is given in memory of Swedish diplomat Harald Edelstam, who saved the lives of thousands of people during World War II and after the military coup in Chile in 1973.
