The Under Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Edgardo Riveros, held an audience with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Chile, S.E. Abdullah Mohammed Almaainah, to mark the end of his mission, after six years in our country.
Subsequently, he presided the ceremony in which the Emirati Ambassador was decorated with the Chilean Order of Merit in the degree of Grand Cross. In his speech, the Under Secretary highlighted the important task Ambassador Almaainah performed, as it was under his management that the bilateral relations were strengthen in the politic, economic and cooperation areas, specially having in consideration the visit of the Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Rashid al Maktoum in 2014 and the signing of an Understanding Memorandum to establish a mechanism of Political Consultation, subscribed in the year 2012.
The national author seized the opportunity to renew the appreciation for the important donations the United Arab Emirates Government and the Ambassador Abdullah Mohammed Almaainah made when the wildfires shook our country, in the beginning of 2017, and those actions conducted within the "Dress a million kids" campaign, aimed at vulnerable children.
